Sorry very fundamental question but does one string go to the spring and the other spring to the tuner?

Thanks,
Ralph

Yes. Depending on how you do it you can have it where you have compliance away or toward the bed.

I go back and forth between which way is better. I have settled on putting the compliance toward the bed.

One of my arms has a limited range of travel. It won't fold back on itself as far as the others. I take it I don't have enough turns of string on the spool??

I leave one loop on the spool on the side closest to the stepper when the arm is fully closed.

It could be useful for others - my stringing setup :)

Notice dots - it's for correct connection between gears

If you put both arms into vice you can easily operate with string, spool, tuner and spring.
Now I can wire whole arm in couple of minutes (not ~1 hour) :)

one more thing! there is a small bug in stringing diagram!
wire from tuner is incorrectly drawn (it could be confusing for newbies...)

sorry, but now it totally broken :)

I was talking about upper loops - there are two loops that are on the same side.
bottom loops were fine.
